Undoubtedly, companies across all sectors continue to face massive disruptions and unprecedented repercussions that were never before seen. How then are these companies expected to mitigate the difficulties in pursuing business continuity? Republic Act No. 10142, otherwise known as the Financial Rehabilitation and Insolvency Act (FRIA) of 2010, provides for the rehabilitation or liquidation of financially-burdened persons.

Following recent developments due to COVID-19, the ECCP Cagayan de Oro/Northern Mindanao branch is organizing a webinar entitled "COVID-19 Crisis: Remedy for Financially Distressed Enterprises and Individuals" on 19 June 2020 from 02:00 PM – 03:15 PM with guest speaker Atty. Kenneth O. Tamala, BNTB Law Senior Partner. This webinar seeks to discuss a measure which may help pave the way for businesses and business owners to rehabilitate or liquidate their holdings while at the same time ensuring equitable treatment of creditors with a view of ensuring or maintaining certainty and predictability in commercial affairs. Also, this session hopes to shed light on the preservation and maximization of the asset value of these borrowers, businesses, or business owners.
