Event Details

Plant-based product is derived from a plant source. This does not only include vegetables and fruits but also nuts, seeds, oils, whole grains, legumes, and beans. It is free from any trace of animal products and derivatives. In recent years, there has been a worldwide demand for plant-based foods and products in the market. This emerging trend can be attributed to people's increasing health consciousness and ethical considerations on climate change and animal welfare. This culture is seen as a sustainable and wholesome way of life.

In a report released by Bloomberg Intelligence, the plant-based foods market could make up to 7.7% of the global protein market by 2030, with a value of over $162 billion. Whereas the vegan beauty market is projected to reach $21.4 billion by 2027, according to ReportLinker. In Europe, it is a €5.8 billion market which makes it one of the world's biggest markets for plant-based food industry according to Good Food Institute Europe. This global revolution in the food and cosmetic industry poses a great economic opportunity for countries like the Philippines.

Mindanao, the second largest and southernmost island of the Philippines, is home to a vast and fertile plantation of vegetables and fruits. It is dubbed as the "food basket" of the country. Nestled in an agriculturally abundant island-region, Bioskin Philippines is a homegrown company, with a decade of manufacturing experience in offering 100% plant-based, cruelty-free, and FDA approved skin care, cosmetics, and healthcare products.

"Plant-Based Culture for the Future: A Sustainable and Wholesome Business Venture", spearheaded by ECCP Mindanao, will be conducted on October 13, 2023, from 1:30 PM-3:30 PM via Zoom featuring Bioskin Philippines. They also manufacture natural coffee products and other healthy drink options. As a company that embraces sustainability and supports local farmers, Bec & Geri's has been awarded with PeTA Best Vegan Burger in 2021.
