Event Details

Through the "E-Residency: launchpad towards European business opportunities", the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines in partnership with the Republic of Estonia intends to guide Filipino professionals and entrepreneurs who wish to establish an entity in the EU through the Estonian e-Residency. Estonia as an emerging startup hub is often called the New Silicon Valley of Europe, with companies such as Skype, Bolt, Wise and others making their way into the global market from there.

During the briefing, distinguished speakers and representatives will feature the e-Residency program and the Estonian business ecosystem to give each participant a deeper understanding of:

  • How Estonia has gained such a prominent position among the leading countries in e-government and is renowned for its technological advances in the digital field, acting as a beacon of futuristic social progress;
  • What opportunities does a secure government-issued digital ID provide for both citizens and non-citizens;
  • The wide range of Estonia's public and private e-services that the e-Residency program opens up for entrepreneurs from around the world, from paperless company administration to banking and tax filing;
  • The outstanding business opportunities that this program represents when it comes to expanding your business to the EU and getting frictionless access to the European Single Market.

Estonia is the first country to offerE-Residency, a government-issued digital identity, and status that gives access to Estonia's transparent business environment and the wider European market. Since the introduction of the program in 2014, 95,000 people have received e-Residency, and more than 23,000 businesses have been created. Revolutionizing the way of doing business, the success of the e-Residency program has been recognized by entrepreneurs from around the world. Starting a business through e-Residency is not only a way to benefit from the European market, but also Estonia's digital economy. Moreover, as Estonia has been ranked 1st in the Tax Competitiveness Index for the past 9 years, in addition to the advantage of managing their EU-based business remotely, entrepreneurs will benefit from a unique business-friendly environment.

The European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines will offer you a multitude of opportunities in partnership with the Republic of Estonia government that will benefit you throughout the process of setting up your business in the EU through the e-Residency program.

We are pleased to have Estonian Ambassador to Japan H.E. Mr. Väino Reinart joining us physically for the event together with Mr. Fernando Martin O. Peña, Honorary Consul General of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Estonia in Manila, and Ms. Ülane Vilumets, Head of Business Development for the e-Residency Program.

The briefing hosted by the Republic of Estonia government aims to :

  • Increase the awareness of the available opportunities for businesses offered by the e-Residency program;
  • Provide practical guidance on how to obtain e-Residency and set up an entity in the EU through Estonia;
  • Promote the establishment of investment and business partnerships between the Philippines and Estonia.
