Event Details

The Marcos Jr. administration has continued underscoring its commitment to improving ease of doing business (EODB) to promote a strong investment climate in the Philippines. In line with this, among the government's recent efforts is the signing of Executive Order (EO) No. 18, which aims to fast-track the process of securing necessary licenses and permits for strategic investments. Additionally, the government has issued EO No. 59, streamlining the permitting process for infrastructure flagship projects, and EO No. 32, which simplifies requirements for the construction of telecommunications and internet infrastructure. Moreover, key government agencies and decision-makers have boosted their efforts to further strengthen collaboration with the private sector, among which is the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).

The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) remains steadfast in its commitment to champion regulatory reform and foster a business environment that attracts investments and promotes economic growth. As a recognized advocate for regulatory transparency and efficiency, the ECCP continues to engage key stakeholders in discussions that drive ease of doing business and economic liberalization in the Philippines.

Building on its role as an ARTA Champion, the ECCP seeks to sustain momentum following the Ceremonial Signing of the ARTA-ECCP Memorandum of Understanding in February 2024. This partnership aims to drive meaningful reforms in regulatory processes, further reinforcing the Chamber's advocacy for a more transparent, efficient, and business-friendly regulatory landscape.

To this end, ECCP is organizing a Luncheon Meeting with ARTA Director General Secretary Ernesto Perez on 05 March 2025, bringing together industry leaders and resource persons to discuss the latest developments in the business regulatory environment. The session will explore the government's initiatives to address barriers to investment, recent policies aimed at streamlining business processes, and opportunities for public-private collaboration in advancing the country's EODB agenda.

This event will serve as a valuable platform for industry leaders to share insights, address challenges, and contribute to policy discussions that will shape the future of business and investment in the Philippines.
