The disruptions over the last two years exposed the vulnerabilities and shortcomings of the global supply chain. As countries imposed lockdown measures and temporary trade restrictions in response to COVID-19, consumers saw shortages in numerous commodities - from medical supplies, everyday necessities, to computer chips. These disruptions affected the global economy and businesses all over the world.

While we continue to recover from the pandemic, the supply chain remains fragile due to unforeseen shocks such as the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Hence, businesses must develop resiliency in order to mitigate the impact of external influences.

Considering the natural catastrophes and COVID-19, prominent companies have reiterated supply chain risk management to decrease production costs and remain innovative within a globally integrated network. In spite of that, there is still a need to assess the areas on strengthening supply chains in the post-pandemic phase as well as optimizing sales and operations planning.

With this, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) is organizing a webinar entitled "Shaping Supply Chains in the Philippines for Economic Recovery" on 24 MAY 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM (GMT +8) via Zoom. This virtual conference aims to identify the potential risks affecting supply chain management, reinforce strategies, and analyze all aspects of issues faced by companies and organizations.
