With cases in more than 180 jurisdictions all over the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted socio-economic systems and supply chains, impacted business operations and consumer behavior, and driven financial markets into an all-time low. As the Philippines continues to tackle this health crisis, industries and individuals remain faced with challenges and uncertainties.

The situation is no different for the Philippine energy sector. These past months, we have witnessed the industry experience repercussions brought about by the pandemic. To help cope with these, a number of policies and measures have been implemented and proposed. Nonetheless, there remains the heightened need to sustain business operations and meet the country's electricity demand, even in a post-pandemic set-up.

At the ECCP Special COVID-19 Webinar entitled "The Now and Future of the Philippine Energy Sector", we will be hearing from Undersecretary Felix William "Wimpy" Fuentebella, policy updates in the energy sector, support initiatives for energy companies in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, emerging trends in the sector, as well as the Philippine government's plans and priorities aimed at meeting the current and future energy demands of the country.
