Event Details

Among the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic is the swift transition to the digital economy which has helped facilitate the inclusion of more actors in various sectors. However, the scenario has also led to the amplification of the economic and gender gaps in society, including access to banking and financial services.

Financial inclusion has been outlined as one of the enablers of a number of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among which is SDG 5 on gender equality and women's economic empowerment. Relative to this, it is critical that actors understand and get involved in the various steps being taken to break gender barriers, advance innovation, and promote financial inclusion and equity.

It is for this reason that the ECCP Special Committee on Open Finance and Financial Inclusion are pleased to invite you to the virtual event entitled "Women and Tech: Inclusion and Empowerment" on 10 March 2022. With Bixie and UBX Philippines, join us as we engage in discussions on the movement towards women's financial inclusion and economic empowerment.
